Sunday Worship

We have two services each Sunday morning at 8:30 and 11:00 am and our Christian Education hour from 9:50-10:50 am. Our philosophy of worship leads us to the following conclusions in our worship life as a congregation:

• The preaching and teaching of God's Word as the sole authority for living life is the centerpiece of each of our worship services. Our pastor is gifted with a wonderful ability to illuminate the timeless truths of Scripture with a story or illustration that any listener can readily identify with and apply.
• All of our services are deliberately identical in form and substance. It is our conviction that corporate worship should bring all of God's people together in worship regardless of differences in age, worship style preferences, church backgrounds, etc. Therefore, our worship emphasizes what believers have in common rather than what makes them different.
• Our worship style is "blended"; that is we desire to acquaint God's people with the wonderful breadth of church music that is available to believers. We try to avoid using the terms "contemporary" and "traditional" since it is all the same to our timeless Creator and can all be used to glorify Him when our hearts are focused on Him rather than ourselves. Therefore, on any given Sunday you may hear the organ lead us in Martin Luther's classic "A Mighty Fortress" while in the next moment our Praise Band accompanies us to the tunes of some of today's most well-known praise songs.
• If you have not heard it mentioned yet, we are committed to reminding our people that worship is all about Him, not us. Worship is not ego-centric; it is theo(God)-centric. We encourage people to come into corporate worship with the attitude of what they can bring to worship rather than what they can get out of worship.
• We celebrate the ordinances of baptism and communion in the context of our morning worship service. We encourage members of our church family to "tell their stories" about God's work in their lives and then publicly recognize family milestones during our services such as dedicating a child to God or publicly declaring one's commitment to their Savior or desiring to come into church membership.
